MICROBLADING

MICROPIGMENTATION

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading, also known by a variety of names such as embroidery, microstroking, feather touch and hair like strokes, is a form of semi-Permanent Makeup that provides a means to partially or fully camouflage missing eyebrow hair with the appearance of simulated hair using fine deposits of cosmetic tattoo pigments. Over time the strokes can blur and fade and will need to be refreshed.

DURABILITY

Microblading is a tattoo. Pigment is deposited into the dermis (not into the epidermis as so many techs are claiming. Were it placed in the epidermis it would slough off within 30-90 days, depending on age, as the epidermis continuously renews itself) so as to make the pigment last. The tattoo, as all other tattoos, can fade depending on multiple factors (quality of pigment/ink used, UV exposure, use of acids in skincare products, medications) but will never disappear completely. Tattooing is permanent, whether it is on the body or face. It is crucial to do your research on the experience and education level of the artist before having any work done.

Immediately post treatment, eyebrows will appear darker than expected, but will fade during the healing process over the following 4 weeks. The treatment is typically a 2 step application process:

  • The initial appointment includes consultation and initial application.
  • The second appointment a minimum of 4 weeks later is to refine the strokes and fine-tune color. The 2nd application ensures that the micro-pigments are healing properly and responding well.

Microblading, although often marketed as semi-permanent, is permanent just like any other tattoo on your body. Periodic Color Boosts will be required to keep the color fresh.

WHAT IS MICROPIGMENTATION?

Permanent make-up (PMU) or micropigmentation is the revolutionary method of depositing hypoallergenic mineral pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. With an ultra-thin needle and pigment, the shape of the eyebrows, eyes or lips is enhanced.

This treatment is also known as permanent make-up or cosmetic tattooing. It is sometimes wrongly confused with cosmetic tattoos (e.g. eyebrow tattoos or eyeliner tattoos). However, the pigments used for permanent make-up are introduced less deeply into the skin layer and have a different composition from tattoo inks. Micropigmentation devices are also more refined than tattoo machines, and the techniques that are used are different.

Permanent make-up allows you to subtly give features shape and definition to enhance natural beauty in both men and women. Besides boosting self-confidence, micropigmentation can also lead to a more active lifestyle, personal freedom and save quite a bit of time on make-up application. In addition, the procedures have a stunning smudge-free effect that will last for several years. PMU is also very suitable for people with allergies to regular make-up, contact lens wearers with sensitive eyes, people with glasses or people who are active in sports. The possibilities are endless! In short, permanent-make-up ensures you always look your best.

POSSIBILITIES OF MICROPIGMENTATION

Permanent make-up (PMU) offers you the long-lasting pleasure of always having great looking eyebrows, eyeliner and lips. PMU is also known as micropigmentation, in which , Some people refer to micropigmentation as cosmetic tattooing, which is incorrect. The principle seems to be similar to tattooing in that a pigment is implanted into the skin, but the techniques, pigments and devices are quite different. Terms such as ‘eyebrow tattooing’ or ‘eyeliner tattoo’ give the wrong impression and should therefore be avoided. Permanent make-up or micropigmentation can be used to accentuate strong points and correct or camouflage defects. Micropigmentation has many applications, but the most popular are:

PERMANENT MAKE-UP – EYEBROWS

The eyebrows are perhaps the most important part of the face: they frame the eyes and give the face expression. Eyebrows that are too light, too thin or non-existent can be naturally enhanced and improved with micropigmentation. For example, using hair stroke or shading methods, depending on the client’s wishes and skin type. The latest technique for eyebrows in PMU is the hair stroke technique. It is used for creating the most natural brows possible.

PERMANENT MAKE-UP – EYES

Eyeliner is the easiest way to enhance the beauty and expression of the eyes – whether a subtle liner on just the top, the bottom or both the top and bottom. From a subtle lash liner between the lashes to a duotone eyeliner, the variations in color, thickness and length are endless. Permanent eyeliner gives a natural look that is more subtle and neat than regular make-up. The great benefit of permanent make-up is that it won’t smudge throughout the day. Permanent make-up stays perfectly in place day in day out, from early in the morning till late at night, on vacation, in the sauna and while working out. Long-lasting beauty with permanent make-up.

PERMANENT MAKE-UP – LIPS

Skin aging can cause the lip contours to fade. A natural lip liner can permanently restore the shape of your lips and gives your lip line more definition. A Permanent make-up lip liner can also correct asymmetrical lip lines for a more proportionately shaped mouth. The so-called ‘full lips’ color treatment gives a natural color to pale or faded lips.

FAQ ABOUT

PERMANENT MAKEUP

DOES IT HURT?

No. Permanent makeup is not completely painless, but is generally not perceived as pain. Thanks to the latest computer-controlled equipment and anesthetic creams there is minimal discomfort. Every client is different, some will feel vibrating or scratching and some will feel nothing at all.

FOR WHO IS PERMANENT MAKEUP SUITABLE?

Almost everyone. Women and men who want to look great at any moment of the day, for those who need corrections, for people with allergies to regular makeup, for people who are active in sports. Permanent makeup is accepted by each population group.

HOW LONG DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP STAY?

In general, permanent makeup will always be present. The intensity of your permanent makeup fades in the course of time. However, this is completely dependent from person to person. This is partly due to the natural cell renewal, the immune system and the influence of UV light.

CAN I STILL APPLY REGULAR MAKEUP?

Absolutely. Permanent makeup is not intended as replacement for evening makeup, it serves in particular to accentuate. Additional makeup can always be applied for a evening out.

IS THE END RESULT IMMEDIATELY VISIBLE?

No. The first week, the pigmentation is significantly darker than the final result. Within the first week of healing the intensity of the color will become about 40% softer. Due to the natural cell renewal, the end result of pigmentation will be visible after a period of approximately 3 to 5 weeks.

IS PERMANENT MAKEUP SAFE?

Yes. We work only under the strict rules of the Health Authorities. For every treatment a new sterile needle is used which will be destroyed immediately after the treatment.

FOR THE AMOUNT I SPEND ON PERMANENT MAKEUP I CAN BUY A LOT OF PENCILS!

Indeed. However every morning is there a makeup artist who is styling your eyebrows, drawing a crisp eyeliner for you or correcting the shape of your lips? Does this makeup artist also accompany you on holiday to quickly redo your makeup as you step out of the ocean or the swimming pool? It is not just the line or contour, it comes to overall convenience that you will experience every day for years.

IS PERMANENT MAKEUP THE SAME AS A TATTOO?

The principle is similar to each other. With both procedures pigment is placed into the skin with needles, but that is the only similarity. The equipment as well as the composition of the pigments, and the techniques is completely different.

IS THERE ANY SPECIAL AFTER CARE?

Basically after the application of permanent makeup there is no special after care needed. To ensure that your permanent makeup will be optimal, your Nouveau Contour professional will give you guidelines for after care during the healing of the skin.
